Sons of Eagles coach Andy Reid plead not guilty

(AP) - Two sons of Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid have pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from separate traffic incidents on the same day in late January.

Britt Reid, 21, is accused of brandishing a handgun at another motorist during a traffic dispute in suburban Montgomery County. He faces a felony charge of carrying a firearm without a license, as well as misdemeanor charges of assault, drug possession and making terroristic threats.

Garrett Reid, 24, faces assault, drug possession and other misdemeanor charges after he allegedly admitted, following a car accident, to having used heroin the same day. Police said he was speeding and ran a red light, causing an accident that injured a woman.

The brothers entered pleas by waiver so they were not required to appear for an arraignment scheduled for Wednesday, according to the state attorney general's office, which is prosecuting the case.

Pretrial conference dates could be announced next week.

Andy Reid took a five-week leave of absence at the end of winter because of his sons' legal troubles. He has since returned to the team.
